Puerto Morelos is the closest beach town to Cancun International Airport (CUN) — about 15-20 minutes by taxi or rental car down highway 307, halfway between Cancun and Playa del Carmen. Staying in the hotel zone? The VIP pass includes round-trip transport. The festival takes place at Parque Fundadores, the main square right on the beach.
April is dry season: sunny days, the reef at its clearest (Puerto Morelos sits on the Mesoamerican Reef — snorkeling is world-class) and the famous Ruta de los Cenotes ten minutes inland. Beer festival + reef + cenotes = the long weekend your group chat has been asking for.
